WE LOVE HELSINKI

We visited the Hotel Torni in the center of Helsinki. The restaurant is in the 14th floor. It is the highest building in Helsinki center. We took some photos of Helsinki at night (it is only 6.30 pm…it is already dark in Finland!). The city center of Helsinki is a stone city. Most of the buildings are the same hight! Only the church towers, the tower of Stadion and the harbour cranes break the skyline. Helsinki is by the sea, as you can see in the pictures! The big white church in one of the pictures is called “Big Church”. It was built in the 19th century.

WE LOVE HELSINKI!

Living in the city centre of Helsinki

It is nice to have everything close. But we don’t have an elevator in the old building, so people get really tired climbing the stairs!

Today we will introduce Finnish home

Most people in Helsinki live in appartement buildings. There is different living areas in Helsinki. For example one person in our group lives in a wooden house area. In most of the homes there is several rooms: bathroom, kitchen, living room, library, several bedrooms (most of us have our own rooms) and sauna.
